RIGHT TO THE CITY
ASSET-BASED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
I am a progressive policy planner with a deep sense of civic duty and concern for urban social issues. I am particularly interested in social justice, strengthening communities, assessing and mitigating community impacts, protecting community assets and achieving social change. I specialize in an asset-based and holistic approach to urban resilience. I value equity, inclusivity, collaboration, and strategic thinking.
I have over 10 years of experience working in non-profit sector and municipal government. I hold solid analytical, research, stakeholder engagement/facilitation, and project management skills. I have a sound understanding of complex community planning issues and of working with communities facing social challenges such as poverty, marginalization and homelessness.
I was born and raised in east Vancouver with a BA in Sociology from UBC and a Masters in Planning from UBC’s School of Community and Regional Planning.
I am committed to and passionate about participatory planning, working with communities facing complex challenges, and bridging the divide between local government and communities to find ways to make Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, truly, for all. I am humbled every day to live and work on the traditional, unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓ əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples.

In 2016, I started CommunityIMPACT Consulting, a Vancouver-based planning consultancy committed to and passionate about exploring urban social issues and impacts through the three pillars of sustainability: social, environmental and economic.
CommunityIMPACT Consulting works to create vibrant, creative, safe, affordable and caring communities for the wide diversity of individuals and families who live in, work in and visit Vancouver, the lower mainland and beyond.
CommunityIMPACT Consulting's goal is to create inclusive communities in which individuals and groups of community members are able to influence and change the structures that shape and govern their lives.
CommunityIMPACT Consulting is humbled to operate on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-waututh) Nations.
